Valentine’s Day - How are You Celebrating This Year?

Some say that Valentine day is just a commercial event that came to live to boost the profits of the business world. Although we tend to buy something special for the love of our life, we have to keep in mind that the real meaning of Valentine day is to honor your sweet heart. Buy her something special. Get your honey the candy she loves. Flowers and jewelry make great Valentine gifts.

Do not forget to buy or make her a card with a special message. But most of all make that day a special day. Go do something fun together or something romantic. Go see a chick flick or take her on a stroll. Candle light dinners are always a success. Prepare her favorite food and watch a movie together at your house. Make the remembrance of your relationship even more special by taking her away from daily life.

A weekend trip to a cabin in the mountains or the woods, or to a beach resort, can be a thrilling experience for both of you. Include good food and some romance and you got the perfect recipe for a perfect Valentine weekend. Did you not go on a summer vacation last year but you have time now?

Cruise lines have some interesting offers and you will build unforgettable memories. Men have to keep in mind that women of all ages love surprises. Take your wife on a vacation and do not tell her what the plans are. If you cleared all her responsibilities for the time period that you are gone, you will both have the time of your life.

“Concern about the economy is causing many Americans to reconsider their approach to Valentine’s Day. A new survey commissioned by the nonprofit LIFE Foundation reveals that seven in ten (70%) would forego celebrating Valentine’s Day this year in exchange for greater financial peace of mind(1).

Of those Americans who typically buy Valentine’s Day gifts, the current state of the economy will influence gift-giving strategies in a variety of ways. Thirty-nine percent (39%) say they will consider less expensive gifts, 36 percent will focus on more thoughtful gifts, and 20 percent will consider not even giving a gift this year.”

“The main reason to buy life insurance is because you love people and want to protect them financially, so Valentine’s Day is an ideal time to consider a life insurance purchase,” said Marvin H. Feldman, CLU, ChFC, RFC, president and CEO of the LIFE Foundation. “Life insurance helps guarantee that your loved ones will be provided for, even after you’re gone. What a wonderful way to say ‘I love you’ to the most important people in your life.”
